Will definitely return - beautiful place to stay and everything is very well thought out and maintained. Also, surrounded by some beautiful countryside and great walks too. And don't worry about the proximity of the train line. Its really quite a nice novelty and doesn't disturb your relaxation or sleep in any way.

Wonderful place to stay. Ann and Edmund made us very welcome. Lovely private courtyard and garden with pleasant walk to Kirkham Abbey. Very peaceful getaway but near enough to A64 if you want to venture to the coast, York or the North Yorks Moors.

We stayed here for a week in May 2021. What an absolutely lovely place to stay. Well furnished, well equipped and in a fantastic location - there's so many lovely places to visit (and great places to eat) within half an hour's drive. We were entertained every evening by the birds and squirrels who came to the feeders outside our window, great if you like watching and photographing wildlife - it even has its own "wild garden" complete with large pond, benches and wild flower meadow. Spectacular. Also, being next to the railway is great if you like trains (we do) and we were treated to a stream train on one of our days. The weather was hit and miss but that didn't matter one iota when we had such a lovely base to come back to each day.

My wife and I had our first holiday since the pandemic started and felt completely safe onsite with everything we wanted and readily accessible onsite owners. Peaceful and an abundance of bird life including resident breeding house martins. Also enjoyed seeing the trains just outside the property which did not intrude noise wise. The surrounding area is well known to us so no problem finding things to do

Platform 1 Castle Howard Station. Perfect location, very quiet, apartment clean, cosy and comfortable, well decorated and equipped. Lots of birds and squirrels on bird feeder, lovely to watch. Welcome pack very thoughtful, plus treats, towels, blankets and bowls for our 2 dogs very handy, plus large secure garden. Walks from door. Plenty of places to eat. Castle Howard worth a visit. Ann and Edmund made sure we had all we needed and look after premises and grounds very well. Trains go by each way, but don’t disturb you, fun to watch and not noisy. Hoping to return soon, definitely recommend to family and friends
